From Then To Now

From getting engaged to starting my second degree and everything in between!

Welcome back Daisy Dreamers! It has been quite some time since my last blog post. Sadly life got very busy and I found myself going week after week without a new blog post. But rest assured the wait is over!! I figured I would catch you all up on some big life events that have happened since my last blog post. Hence the title "From Then To Now".

My last blog post was on R&R. A great topic! A great practice to have in everyday life! That was written on August 7. Well one week and a day later... I GOT ENGAGED (major life event #1) I won't go into all the details in this post, that will be for another day another post, BUT here is the gist of what happened that day. It was my 2 years with Levi. He had planned to take my to Sylvan Lake for the day, which was no surprise to me because that is where we met, fell in love, first kiss and all that romantic stuff! It is a very special place for us. So we arrived and went mini golfing then we were going to Sunnyside Christian Retreat Centre to go floating and as I grabbed my swim suit to go get changed Levi handed me some dresses and told me to go put one on. He had done this for me before so I wasn't alarmed. Well 20 mins and 3 dresses later I came out, he blindfolded me, walked me down to our dock, sat me down at a table he had prepared with out favourite food on it and a photo album of our summer. I flipped through and when it got to the end he said I think there is one more page. It was a drawing of him on one knee... and that is when he came around and got on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. SO ROMANTIC I KNOW. Seriously it was so thoughtful. He even had a friend of ours there taking pictures the whole time. So that was that! Levi and I are engaged now and enjoying every minute of it!

All of the tears. All of the hugs and kisses. So much love and excitement!

After the engagement life got a bit crazy between trying to pick a day and a location and keeping both families involved and working and getting ready for school and just everything! But God was not done with the blessings and along came an amazing job opportunity for Levi and I (major life event #2)

Levi and I have our own photography company that we just launched called LM Photography! (go check out our instagram account and Facebook page!) We love it and we are so excited to see where it takes us! But now we are also partnered with another photography company called Selah Reflections!

This is the Selah team! So much talent in these people!

They do everything from newborn sessions to weddings and now WEDDING FILMS. That is where God, Levi and I come in. Selah Reflections approached us and asked if we would be interested in doing wedding films with them and to come do some photography also. Obviously Levi and I said YES so now we are doing that on top of LM Photography! We are so excited to be working with Selah Reflections because a) they are amazing people who we already knew and loved b) they are amazingly talented creatives and c) it is a great opportunity for Levi and I to grow and stretch ourselves even more in photography and videography! So on top of getting engaged Levi and I have been working on that partnership and preparing for what is to come!

After this I left for the September long weekend to go camping with Levi's family like I always do! Quading in the bushes and all kinds of crazy fun! On our way up to where we camp levi and I were supposed to go look at a camper van on Kijiji... but it got sold. Such is life! We figured it wasn't the right van or the right time for us to purchase. (Levi and I have had this dream to own a camper van, preferably a Westfalia but we take what we can get, for a long time now but that's for another day another blog too). Then on the Tuesday right after the long weekend during the chaos of being sick, getting my school supplies, preparing myself for school and trying to enjoy my last day of freedom, Levi casually brings up that there is some guy on Kijiji who has a camper van who is willing to sell it for really cheap and willing to meet in 1 hour.

WOW.

OKAY.

WHAT.

(major life event #3)

I am a planner so when someone just throws something at me like that I kind of freeze. I like to think, plan, schedule my life and my decisions. But sometimes you have to grab life by the horns and just go with it! So off we went to the bank, took out some money we had been saving, checked out the van with Levi's dad and bought ourselves a 1977 Dodge camper van. CRAZY!! We call it the Blustein Bus! It is a beauty with orange carpet everywhere and tacky curtains but Levi and I have big plans to renovate the van and make it our own! We actually started the renovations and I cannot wait to share all about our camper van dream and journey with the remodel on here once it is all done! So stay tuned for that blog post too!

Next up on the list is the end of summer. (major life event #4) A sad time I know. This summer has easily been the most busy, crazy, fun, challenging, growing and blessed summer yet! So much has happened for Levi and I and we got to experience so much so it is sad to see it end.

With the end of summer comes school. This fall I started my second degree at Concordia University of Edmonton (major life event #5) I graduated with my #wildcatsquad in May with my Bachelor of Psychology and now I am finally doing my after degree in elementary education! Woohoo! I am SO blessed to get to a) be doing this degree because it's not the easiest to get into and b) do this degree along side my girls, my #wildcatsquad who I did my undergrad degree with! This degree comes with a lot of excitement, nerves, and hard work. It is going to be a lot of learning for me but I know I am not alone in this season. Just like with my psychology degree I know God is with me walking side by side with me. In the same way He has gone before me and so I know whatever I will face He has already faced and overcome.

So that is it folks! From August 7th to now!

XOXO

Maggie
